Welcome to the website of the Cole County Partners for Clean Air, a nonprofit, grassroots organization aimed at making the Missouri capital city smoke free. On this website you will find a great deal of information about smoking and health, as well as resources for those who want to quit. We don't want smokers to feel unwelcome in public, but we don't want to welcome their exhaled and second-hand smoke into our eyes and lungs as we enjoy an evening out with our families. We don't want to intrude on the rights of smokers, we just want to assert our rights to good, clean, breathable air.
Our MissionOur mission is to promote a smoke-free environment in all places of public accomodation, including restaurants, hotels, public buildings, bars and shopping malls. We also want to extend the zone of protection 100 feet outside the openings to these places so that non-smokers don't have to walk through a cloud of second-hand smoke to go shopping, take a walk, or eat a meal.
